******SPOILERS FOR ATTACK ON TITAN CHAPTER 138 BELOW*******************
This moment, since chapter 123, always stuck with me. I constantly thought, along with Mikasa, what WOULD have happened if she had chosen a different answer to Eren's question? What would they have done? How would the world have been saved?
The answer of course was revealed in yesterday's chapter of Attack on Titan! I actually started this drawing a long time ago, but after reading the chapter, I was inspired to FINISH IT AS QUICKLY AS I COULD. It was tons of fun, and I still cannot get over the fact that Isayama really did explore the potential of what could have happened instead. Stuff like this is why I love Attack on Titan so much. Regardless of your stance on the ship, this is now officially canon. TAKE THAT EREHISU SHIPPERS (Just kidding. Eren is DEFINITELY the father.)
One thing you'll notice about this piece is that it's very different in style from my usual 2D/3D mashup pieces, in that it's a lot messier. I didn't do any LINEART, and instead experimented with simply painting inside the sketch. In the time-lapse video (I only just now discovered clip studio's time-lapse feature, in case you haven't noticed) you'll see me ATTEMPT to give the rough sketch a quick clean pass, but eventually decide to just use the original sketch. I ended up turning the opacity waaay down, but I think that completes the look. I definitely struggled though, and this isn't going to be my definitive method. I may go back to lineart, but bleh. I hate lineart.
I'll figure something out.
