This is a piece I've technically been working on for ALMOST a year now! I first drew the 2D element with Link and Zelda back in JANUARY!!! I came back to color & shade it and render out a nice, fitting background recently since my art block has been really bad for the past few months. It's been a fun piece, and it's made me hungry to draw more ship art for these two. 😣 They're adorable!!

I think I originally got the idea for this piece while playing Age of Calamity right as that came out, but since the game sucked HORRIBLY I kinda left the drawing alone. I'm so glad I finally got to finish it though! With BOTW2 on the radar I definitely hope to give this couple more drawings! :3 They deserve the entire world.

Also since I started it long before I ever started recording timelapses of my art, there's no timelapse for this one 🙁 MAYBE NEXT TIME!

Full scene, zoomed out to reveal the "trick" (lots of forced perspective was required to prevent the drawn 2D element from clipping into the ground, but still casting shadows onto the ground itself. I ended up having to hand paint most of the shadows)
